What Oathway keeps

No account, no email, no name
You can read every question and run mock interviews without giving us anything. A mock interview outside a Study Book is not stored at all: its progress travels in the page itself.
Study Books
A Study Book holds your review marks, your 8 "My answers", your study track, an optional interview date and your saved mock interview results. It is stored encrypted on our server, and we keep only a fingerprint (a one-way hash) of its private link, not the link itself. Delete it any time from the book; a book not opened for 400 days is deleted automatically. The book refuses text that looks like an A-number, a case or receipt number or a Social Security number.
Hear it
Hear it uses the speech voice built into your own browser or device. Oathway never uses your microphone or camera, and nothing is recorded.
Server records
Like any website, the server that hosts Oathway writes a visit log: your internet address, the time, your browser type and the address of the page, which for a Study Book page includes its private link. These logs are kept by the hosting server for its statistics and security and are cleared on its regular schedule; Oathway does not read them to follow anyone. To stop the same address making too many books, Oathway itself stores only salted one-way hashes of addresses, for 3 days.
Cookies
One security cookie that protects forms from forgery. No advertising, no analytics, no outside scripts, fonts or trackers.
Sharing
We do not sell or share anything. Nothing is sent to USCIS or anyone else.
